This post will be a review about Nitraflex. If you are interested in a high-stim, long lasting pre-workout supplement, then keep reading to find out why this might be a good product for you.

Nitraflex, created by the company GAT, is a high intensity pre-workout. It is an OG pre-workout and has been around for a while. Nitraflex contains 325mg of caffeine, 1500mg of beta-alanine, 3 grams of Citrulline, and a clinically researched dose of calcium fructoborate (CFB) per serving. Many individuals know that caffeine is raw energy that keeps you focused, but what about the other distinguishing factors like the low dose of beta-alanine? Well, beta-alanine is an amino acid that aids in the production of carnosine, and ultimately assists in muscle endurance during a workout. CFB has been known for "ameliorating symptoms of physiological response to stress, including inflammation of the mucous membranes, discomfort and stiffness" (Mogoşanu et al.). CFB aids in better results during a workout because the muscles that are being strained present less feelings of being tired or sore during the workout. 1.5 grams of beta-alanine combined with CFB creates a better combination of ingredients causing vasoconstriction pertaining to the pump feeling rather than containing a larger dose of only beta-alanine.

The initial onset and rush of the product is incredible. Within about ten to fifteen minutes after consumption, the effects of the product began to kick in. When I first used Nitraflex, it was like being knighted with untouchable power and focus. The workout was like no other I had ever done. It's like putting baby oil on a slip'n-slide - it makes it easier, but you still have to run and jump in the beginning. The weight on workouts that would typically tire me out were noticeably easier and less tiring. After the work out, because of the great onset of the supplement, I suspected to have a hard crash, but I was extremely surprised that it was not as harsh, and very mild actually, which is due to the Theanine in the product. Theanine has been used to prevent the crash and "cool down" the effects of the other ingredients.

The flavor. This is a tough one. The product comes in many flavors, including peach mango, black cherry, blue raspberry, green apple, watermelon, fruit punch, orange, pink lemonade, pineapple, pina colada, and peach iced tea. I have only tried the fruit punch and blue raspberry flavor (blue raspberry is the one that I currently use). Drinking pre-workout in general is not going to taste great, but some go down much easier than others. Nitraflex is probably one of the few that I have used which I can drink with no problem. It’s a little dry, but it doesn't make you gag like other supplements would.

The smell of it is a different story. The smell isn't horrible, but it’s not something that anyone will think they will like at first. It's kind of like cooking pot stickers from Costco, smells funky but tastes great. The smell of blue raspberry Nitraflex has a small hint of cigarette smoke inside of a 1999 Buick century with an exhaust leak (distinct but not horrible). The smell of it doesn't bother me and is not very pungent but if you intentionally smell it, that’s when your olfactory senses would react.

It is odd however, that GAT does not specify the amount of CFB or some other ingredients. Scary much? Well it is a pro blend. Despite not having the dosage listed on the product or even advertised on the website for Nitraflex. Another note worth mentioning is the lower dose of beta-alanine. Personally, I like supplements with higher beta-alanine because the tingling rush is an acquired “taste” and Nitraflex has about half the amount of what most other pre-workouts will provide per serving – so it depends on the preferences of the user. Although Nitraflex made everything on my body itchy at first, it was not intolerable. Luckily, that itchy feeling quickly went away once the work out began and it was smooth, but intense, sailing from thereon out.

My brother and a friend of mine have recently started using the supplement and the two are mixed on the results. My friend loves it just like I do, he actually increased his weight numbers significantly after just one week of using it. He loves the intense feeling of the supplement. On the other hand, my brother moderately liked it. He reported that onset of it made him feel spacey and it was too much of a distraction for him. This is definitely a stim-junkie pre-workout. Everyone’s different in what they expect a supplement to do for them.

Personally, I would highly recommend adding Nitraflex into your supplement stack. Many individuals use the product and I have been using it for about 10 months now as my regular pre-workout. It's not as expensive, $29.99 for 30 servings, but that's not exactly cheap either. If you are a beginner, starting with Nitraflex may not be the best entry supplement. I personally use the Nitraflex that is the original blend without creatine, as you should always take your creatine separately. If you're interested in trying this product, I'll put a link to purchase it below.
